Technical

What is the basic difference between porcelain and ceramic tiles?

Care and Maintenance

What products should I use to clean my tile?
We recommend using a non-acidic, anti-bacterial cleaner for porcelain as well as natural stone materials.

How do I prevent staining on my natural stone tiles and grout?
The first step to protect your investment is to seal the stone with the right sealer. Once this has been done, remember to use a PH balanced cleaner.
Never clean with any type of acidic cleaner as this could strip the sealer over time. Acid can also etch polished natural stone.

How to prevent termites on bedroom furniture?
Once the raw piece of furniture is fabricated by the, it is recommended that you apply an anti-termite chemical or use a wood preservative on the surface. Allow the plywood to dry for at least 6-8 hours and then finish it with laminate. This treatment provides good resistance to termites.

Rectified Edges

What does rectified edges represent?
A tile that has been “rectified” has had all its edges mechanically finished in order to achieve a more precise dimension. The process involves cutting or grinding a tile to a specific size.

Following installation guidelines must be followed to assure a pleasing result –

⦁ As the size of the tile increases, the flatness becomes even more critical.
⦁ Setting materials specifically designed to support large sizes must be used.
⦁ Running bond or brick joint patterns require a maximum offset of 33%
⦁ Grout joint widths must be at least 1/8” for rectified tile.
⦁ Use a contractor experienced in installing large-sized tile.

Laying Patterns

How do you lay tile in a chevron pattern?
Choose long, thin rectangular tiles. Cut the short ends of the tile at 45-degree angles. Make sure to cut each end in a different direction. After finishing the cuts, you want a parallelogram shape, not a trapezoid. Those newly-angled ends will meet each other in a point. Line the tiles up end to end to get that signature zig-zag look.
